Hi folks, Matt from England here. I just wanted to share with you all, that I am currently
recording the unabridged audiobook versions of the James Potter series. James Potter and
the Hall of elders crossing, and James Potter and the curse of the gatekeeper are currently
in production. Please note, that the project is being done with the approval of the author
G Norman Lippert, and also permission has been granted by JK Rowling.

The audiobooks are being recorded in a professional recording studio designed for
recording spoken word, using a very talented British narrator. Unfortunately, Jim Dale
would not work on this project, because the stories are fanfiction works, however, our
narrator is incredible at different voices and accents etc, and we are using the Jim Dale
character voice profiles as a guideline, rather than the Stephen Fry versions.

I can already tell you, that book one will be roughly 16 1/2 hours in length, book 2 17 1/2
hours in length, book 3 the vault of destiny's will be approximately 21 1/2 hours, and
book for, the Morrigan Webb will be roughly 23 hours in length.

As I'm sure you can imagine, this is going to be a lot of work for us, especially as unlike
most of the audiobooks I produce commercially, these books cannot be sold to make a
profit. There are legal reasons for that, but basically fanfiction cannot be sold to make a
profit. However, as the titles will be available to the blind and print disabled as a download
exclusively, we are allowed to make a small charge to cover hosting costs. Hosting the
audiobooks on a cloud storage platform for you all to download and enjoy will cost money
and so there will be a small fee for downloading the books, but it will be a small fee,
probably a membership fee to a member area where our intention is to place other
unabridged audio fanfiction and similar works overtime, but we're starting with these four
novels.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know, and of course, once we have set up the website
where you will be able to download these amazing audiobooks, I will let everybody on
here know.

If you want more information, you can follow me personally on twitter @SonicMaverick, or
you can follow my company twitter account @LivingAudio247.

Take care,

Matt

I am a huge Harry Potter fan so I definitely plan to keep checking back and I will be one of the first to buy these books once they come out! Thank you Matt for making this available to us.

I'm very interested in the level of involvement J. K. Rowling had. I understand she gave her permission. Fan Fiction is one of those interesting writing territories which authors have varying stances of. I know some can't stand to see their work handled in such a fasion, while others wholly embrace it as a high honor. As a writer myself I see both sides. But as this is being distributed in this manner, I imagine J. K. must have given the books some scruteny.
